committed to transforming lives through education and humanitarian support.

The Foundation aims to improve lives of the people it serves by working with our partners to design and provide specialised interventional programmes:

• For educational opportunities for girls, including providing school necessities for students at large
• Offer humanitarian support during times of crises and natural disasters in South Africa.

The Thinabantu Foundation was founded in 2010 by Tumi Dlamini. She was always touched by the dire circumstances of people in the community where she grew up and the surrounding areas. From a young age, she always knew that she would one day go back to make a positive contribution and to bring about impactful positive change to the people in her community and in South Africa generally.

Education Changes Lives!

"We are committed to a country where girls have opportunities to learn, thrive and reach their full potential so they can lead and make a meaningful contribution to their families, countries and the world".

“Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farmworkers can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another.”
Nelson Mandela
1st President of South Africa
